Design

Design is what we do! Yes, there are spaces we all encounter on occasion and think to ourselves, “THAT is art!” But as design professionals, we’ve learned that attention to design throughout the process is of critical importance to a successful project. Whether figuring out how to put two pieces of wood together with a strong, hidden joint or making sure that a control joint in a sidewalk is at the correct angle and spacing, there’s design going on with everything we do.

Landscape architects definitely look at the big picture. Because our domain is everything outside a building’s walls, we have a lot of ground to cover, but our paramount goal is to create spaces which are functional and beautiful. Great design, at all levels from detailing to spatial planning, is the key to meeting that goal.
